Hey Vaquero, I've had a 1236X2 for almost 10 years now, and I bought my girlfriend one a couple of years ago on ebay. Great machine, really tough, takes a beating and keeps going. Very deep iron machine also. I hunt a lot of old mill sites and cellar holes. I've found CW buttons, buckles, coins, iron knives, silver, pewter etc. I don't know if it's as deep as other machines for silver, and I've never found any gold with it. I usually hunt with discrimination on 4-5 so I can still find the nickles - and 4-5 is the perfect spot on mine, and I set the sensitivity as high as possible. I can discriminate a lot of smaller nails and still find nickles, silver, pewter, buttons etc. I've pulled a lot of deep iron out of the ground with this machine, it's a great artifact hunter. Let me know how you set yours up, I'd be curious if you set it up differently. I'm hunting tomorrow in a ghost town I recently discovered, I'll let you know how it goes.

But does it find coins & jewlery ?

well with the last one i had i just fell in love with the audio there's nothing fake about it or that artificial digital sound i guess if you know what i mean not putting them down but the analog style to me or my ears is easier to distinguish but the frequency is low and this is good if your a silver or towards the brass side of things plus will punch through the ground easier now why i think what makes the cz3d a winner is its dual freq of 5-15 khz which you have a penetrator and the other as very sensitive on the other so deadly combo wright there but 1236x2 finding gold probably would be tough vs like 17khz and upper freq, i've learned freq makes a big difference on what your hunting for, i think best all around that i've found is 10khz to 12 which has been a coin magnet for me in my ground, anymore users of the 1236x2 and opinons would be great or if you own a 1270 the ultimate depth weapon will surpass the mighty tejon in some soil conditions!
