✅ SOLVED Found an old button in the woods. Military?

I found this old button in the woods yesterday. I was wondering if it could be military related. On the front it has an eagle and EXCELSIOR underneath. On the back it has IMPERIAL PLATED WARRENTED. It was about 7 inches deep. Thanks in advance for the help!

That is an early New York State militia button and a very cool find!!! Pre-Civil War, I think 1820s-1840s.
