In my researching, I found an area that was known for open homesteading in the early 1915s that is now in National forest.
Old stone foundations litter the canyon all the way up.

So I made a trek to the area via mountain bike with my MD to go see this place first hand.
Most of my time was spent getting there with severe over growth, so my actual hunt time was limited.
But I found some neat old relics and a 1929-S Wheat Penny. So I know I'm on the right track.
can't wait to get back there.....but I'll have to.
Many days worth of hunting in this area.

Find something or nor there the big find was finding that cool property.

Best of luck to you Gbone on that cool looking property. There's bound to be some cool stuff there. Go getem'.

Cool place but are you sure you can detect there? It looks like it has been kept up maybe by the Nation Park Service.

It looks like you were the first one there with a detector. Good hunting and good luck.
