I found these two specimens along the Missouri river and hope someone can tell me what I have. Tha larger piece is approximately 4 X 4 inches and the smaller 3 X 3. I thought it was petrified woo but people keep telling me it isn't nut cannot identify what it is. There are quarts inclusions as well as what looks like sandstone adhearing to it. I think it's limestone and the quartz is actually calcite IMHO

Also see some crinoid fossils

I'm sure you are right about the white stone being limestone, I called it sandstone in error, but I have never seen the tan woody looking structure in Limestone before. That doesn't mean it isn't, just that it is new to me.
Is this common?

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Polski! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

I do not see any petrified wood in your items, but in your third photo and to the right, this piece resembles dinosaur bone. Hopefully this is not the same item as the one in the second photo. Otherwise, if it is the same then I don't believe it is bone.
