Found a trigger. Can anyone guess the age?

My doubts are based on the fact that I think (could be wrong) that the area circled indicates a modern die-casting, and, if a trigger, I would expect the square hole to be a round pivot point.

I think someguy is right about the modern die casting. It is not a side lock muzzleloader trigger, they are a simple pivoting type with a piece to trip the sear bar.

I see what you mean. I'm going to take a closer look at it.

The trigger on my musket has no casting marks at all. The two parts seem to be "soldered" together. You can see where it has been worked with a file.
