Found a Tootsietoy

Found this old Tootsietoy car in my brothers from yard. His house was built in 1949 so it could be around that old. I'm impressed with how well it held up in the ground.

I really like those older, larger tootsies. body style and hood ornament looks like a representation of cars around the 1954 model year

It's pretty big. It measures 4 1/8 x 1 3/8 inches.

I'm not sure what the value is on that, (looks like a few dollars on ebay according to other auctions) but I think it'd be really cool to restore that. Blast the paint off and give it a custom paint job (I'd go cherry red and white seats). I think I have enough hobby's as it is though!

Gear, that's a very nice find, as it dates to the same year as your brother's home. 1949--Oldsmobile 88 convertible 4" (Pg. 62 Richter's Tootsietoys 2nd ed.)
