Found a ring. Any ideas??

I found this ring where I live in Savannah, Ga. On both sides looks like a lady's figure. Looks like something was attached to the top. I can see an 's' on the inside of the ring near the thinnest part. Saw a metal detecting video from England where a guy found one just like it. VDI is telling me maybe brass. Thanks for your input! Welcome Doran! That looks like a relatively old ring, or else the soil does a number to metals. You may want to recheck the area to find the top piece, if it is metal.

Looks like a nice fat opal could have sat atop that ring. Just a guess. Sift that hole. Welcome aboard and HH.
