Found a really big old button..can anyone help with age?

I found this button yesterday at a late 1700's/1800's sawmill site. I have found stuff mainly from the early 1800s here.

I was just wondering if anyone knew how old it might be. It's big and really thin...there are no markings at all. it's the size of a half dollar. it rang up in the low 40's on my v3i so I'm not really sure what it's made of. i tried scanning it with my xlt and the vdi #s came up positive but i never really could get a clear signal from it.

Nice dandy button.
1790's is a safe bet for manufacture.
Could have been lost anytime after that.
Should be some large coppers nearby... :headbang:
 

honestly i got no clue but looks like has some decorative marks on it
 

These are 1750-80 in the UK.

i saw that too...there is only a little visible and the rest is too worn to make out.

You bet!! i've already netted ones from 1798, 1801, 1814, and 1817!

I believe your not far off, as I think most of them would have turned up in the US in the 1780-1790s :thumbsup:

I assume your finger slipped, they were not in fashion in the 1810, let alone 1890s :icon_scratch:
