KRF is very unforgiving to knap. You HAVE to have great skill or you end up with nothing. Gary
Thanks Point! Scrapers aren't usually given that much attention. The maker of this one definitely had an eye. That's a nice well made scraper and from beautiful material. Looks like the Paleo scrapers we see from the GB.
Nice find!!
Thanks quito!Great example!
Thanks tn! A few years back it seems like I read that, in general, Mountrail County, ND has some of the nicest artifacts a person can find. I think hunting buffalo was their means of survival so they tended to be darn good at making the instruments to get that food. Points usually aren't terribly large up this way but they are definitely well made and usually quite thin.Nice looking scraper! Real pretty material and well made. You are finding some really beautiful artifacts up there!
Thanks Grim! That is a very fine example. Great find!!
Thanks arrow! They definitely knew what they were doing when it came to killing buffalo up this way.Nice find , you find some really finely crafted pieces and the material makes them that much nicer ...... there was some amazingly skilled craftsmen that knapped the artifacts you have been finding
