Found A Pistol Barrel with Belgium Proof Marks from the 1800's!

Was digging at a newer spot that my brother and I have been working for a few weeks. We have found a lot of really cool treasures like 2 silver spoons, civil war artillery coat button, and multiple dog tax tags. The other day I found what I thought was some piece to a tool when my brother was at work. This morning he noticed it on the table and was confused why I didn't show him the gun barrel. So I cleaned it up some more and noticed a markers mark that said ELG with a star and I found it on google images. I can't find what type of pistol or what years it was manufactured with that mark so any help would be nice.
