it was raining tonite so I decided to go thru my scrap pile before I gave it the final toss into the brass or copper bucket. When I originally dug this, I just thought it was a hunk of brass. Well I was cleaning off the dirt to decide if it was brass or copper and I saw some writing on it.....Erie RR, I thought I saw....no way! this isn't junk, it is a nice relic from the New York Erie RR, cool!! Now my question is what exactly is it? Guess it pays to check everything closely before you discard it or scrap it out! :hello2:

last one is for the "Eastern R.R." but is identical to yours and rare. It's a baggage check. Good luck

I know the feeling, several years ago I was going through my scrap pile and found 6 or so silver coins melted together. Some of the writing was still legible. Congrats on a great find.
