I found a real nice perform of an archaic stemmed point recently. I thought it gave a nice look at the knapping process. One part I enjoyed seeing is the edge work being done early in the process while the point was thicker and still a wedge. It makes sence after looking at it that if side "A" was done then only a minimum of pressure would be necessary to finish side "B" so as not to break the point at such a late stage. Thanks for looking...I thought it was pretty cool. Also notice the stem being formed...the finished point I'm holding next to it came from a site over 100 miles away yet the flaking on the stem is almost identical.
