Found a neat old toy soldier

Digging in my new driveway for the third time today. First found a 1923 wheat penny (and junk) the second was a nice old brass thing still unidentifiable and today this awesome toy soldier! It's the third one I've found but also the nicest. It appears to be complete and still stands up perfect. I'm thinking it's ww1 but I'm no expert on these things I just love it though. Anyone know around how old or what exactly he's firing?

Thanks VPnavy i wasn't sure where to post it. It's a little under 2 inches and I'm not sure if it's lead or cast metal.
