It's a cool find that i have absolutely no information on! Nice find.

Cool medal, I would google Navy medals and see if this one pops up.

That's a cool find! I would guess Japanese Navy, but I couldn't find another one like it on google.

HH!

Thanks guys!!I 've been looking without any luck as well ??? I sure someone on here has seen one and knows a thing or to about this medal.

Rob,
I'd start looking up USMC medals. We are used to seeing the anchor through a globe, but originally I think it was just an anchor like that. Here is an example of a Civil War Era USMC medal I found online. Yours is definitely later, but I couldn't find any match.

I'd say its navy medal for sure ( the fouled anchor - is used by many navy's) -- but the us navy does not use "downward" stripes nor does it use a "star" -- as far as i know -- it might be a japanese naval medal (taken off / from a japanese sailor) during WW2 and brought home as a "war rememberance item"by a US combat soldier and later on lost by his kids or grand kids playing with it --or --" buried " by him in a fit of remorse later on.

humm with the "star" it could be russian --although they normally use a "red star"--with the star being golden thinking asain -- related --most likely japanese.

This looks like the kind of pin that was attached to a ribbon. I'd look for a presentation medal of some sort.
I agree that the star looks kinda Russian.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much guys with all the feed back!!This will help me even more in my search on finding info on this metal.
