Found a Merc today!

Josh (Alpha105) does it again. He knows how to find the sites. Him and I went out today after he got off work. He showed me an old home that he got permission to hunt. We hunted from about 5:20 to 7:00 (he stayed longer). Found a '45 Merc, '41 wheat and some clad. Nice site. I'm starting to think Josh may not want to invite me anymore. He shows me a site, I find a V nickle, he shows me another site, I find a Merc. I feel bad. Let's keep at it Josh. It's your turn! TerryC

Don't EVER feel bad! I found my only 3 cent silver just playing around with my digging tool while out detecting, my buddy now has been kicking my but every time we go out. Seated dime, Seated quarter, Seated Half! He finds a Seated Dollar, he gets buried at the site!

MY suggestion would be to go back to the Grafton house.We'll do some digging. Then we'll take a picture of the Uloa (original) platt map with us and orient it to the present day farms. Once we locate the original building sites, we start knocking on doors and getting permission. According to the book history, Uloa creek went right through the middle of town. It is not pictured on the platt but supperimposing a topo map on the platt shows the center of town is UNDER INTERSTATE 43! Ouch! But we still have some of the town in the farmer's fields. TTC
