The first thing that pops into mind is it could of been part of a Boy Scout neckerchief slide.. It was more common years ago for the BSA to make there own rather then buy them like they do today.. Possibly the 1944 was the kids birth day..

How can life be boring when your a treasure hunter, always remember, things could always be allot worse, be grateful of the little things in life. Breathing, walking, seeing and feeling the wind in your face on an early morning metal detecting adventure! Ha , I love this hobby!

Got out today and found this. I was laughing so hard in the middle of a park by my self! Had to share this one with you! President Hayes token with 2 holes! Damn now I just have to find some string!!!
