Cannot make out any writing or design yet. Haven’t attempted any cleaning as of yet.

It looks as though it is stamped brass... is that true? Does it appear to have the quality of a toy, or do you think it is a serious piece? (I want to call it a badge, but since I'm not certain, I will just call it a "piece" for now)

It would really help to know if there is any writing on it, and if so, what it says.

Thanks for the input! I do not believe it is a toy. That being said, I am not certain. I do not think it is stamped brass. I will be cleaning some and will post new pictures as soon as complete. Really hoping to make out some writing and / or design on front.

Your piece may have an old coin in it. Do a search for "old star of david pendant" and you will see a few constructed like yours.

I believe you may just have nailed it. I was unable to find a single Star of David badge or pin that had a circle on the inside of the star, but by using your search term, I found several, and by adding the word, "coin" to that, narrowed it down even more. The one thing that the CPDigga's doesn't have is a place to hang it from, but of course, that may well be broken off.

Thanks for the input guys. I actually saw those coin pendants as well. I don’t think mine has a coin. It does not have the weight that a coin would have in the middle.

The coin could be missing and that's just the spot where the coin would have gone.
