Looks like a carbine rifle. The large hole on the right side is a good indicator. Now which one is a mystery.

Concur with KT, looks like a Winchester-type lever action rifle or carbine. Where's the barrel?

It's the reciever from either a winchester 1892 or 1894. It could have been a takedown, thatwould explain the missing barrel.
