Almost resembles a WW2 Liberator pistol :dontknow:

That was my first thought also.

Me to, but I think it's a cap gun. I seem to recollect a chincey cap pistol on the lines of a Liberator pistol.

That's one bad looking gun and not in a good way :laughing9:

It has the weight of a real gun and there's a magazine well all the way to the chamber, looking at is closely you can see a trigger too.Thinking about doing an electrolysis treatment on it. I have a variable dc power source and can give is as many volts as I want. I usually do my silver at 18 volts. Anyone with rust removal experience on steel? Any suggestions for what the electrolysis solution should be? I usually use salty water.

I am not seeing it .. The magazine well you refer to looks round, as though it went on a pole, and is far too short to be an effective gun grip/handle. It is also appears to be made of cast iron, so at best, it would be a toy gun, but I have my doubts about that, too. It will be interesting to see what emerges from you electrolysis bath.

As far as cleaning it goes, the simplest method might be a simple mixture of molasses and water. I personally have never tried it, but it gets good reviews.

It kinda looks like a German WW2 Luger. You should definitely throw the electrolysis to it and see what comes out.

Did a Luger have a short stubby round handle?
