That’s a weird looking gun.... is it a cap gun or starter pistol maybe?

In the pic looking down on it you can see a seem running down the top of the barrel. I doubt it’s an actual gun. :dontknow:

Mid 1930's to mid 1950's(?). Might be a Kilgore.

Any chance this could be one of those el cheapo .45 ACP pistols made during WW II and dropped in France to help out the resistance there? Single shot and I believe they were called "Liberators".

The 1909 version did not have the trigger guard, often leaving a child unarmed when shooting the caps and dropping it.
Your 1911 version, with the trigger guard, allowed more children to survive and continue the battle.

Perhaps you might make out the letters AL in that remaining half circle ?

Liberator, Single shot .45acp, not a good gun, but good enough to get a good gun.

No chance it is a Liberator. Still a decent find IMO.
