Spent maybe an hour and a half there and was nervous to loose what I had in my pockets..
Very difficult steep terrain in the woods..

Guess I have to try to find this “David Caras” guy from Saline HS..

Watch is Elgin, think it’s gold plated..
Silver underneath? It rings up a solid 99 on the AT Gold..

Congrats!! Good luck on your ring return!! Got our first return last month. Sure makes you feel good!

Called the school, the ring manufacturer, and everyone I can find online with the name in the ring..

If anyone knows how to go about it better let me know..

Nice finds. I would love to try and help.
Michigan or Louisiana?
Michigan, near the 45th parallel..

Hunted for another couple hours and only found an old blackberry cell phone..

Of course a bunch of change too..

Their are tons of very very old beer cans all the way back to the kind you punched 2 triangular holes in with a can opener, before pull tabs..

It’s very steep terrain, very difficult to keep the coil close to the ground too because it’s woods.. Sticks on the ground everywhere..

I’m also starting to think that this AT Gold doesn’t really go all that deep either because 95% of everything I am digging my AT pinpointer will reach through the ground..
Not digging much very deep..
Could have a lot to do with not being able to keep the coil very close to the ground a lot of the time too..

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

The guy was on the wrestling team from the school it shows it on the side of the ring. So maybe see if anything comes up in the newspapers from that time maybe a reporter has some info on him.

If you find the owner of the ring be sure to TAKE VIDEOS and PICTURES !11

I think I found the owner.. He just hasn’t replied to me on Facebook yet..
Maybe he is like me (and probably a lot of us here) and doesn’t use Facebook much..

But his profile says where he works, so I might call his work..

Either way I’m in no hurry to sell or melt the ring or anything like that, even if I don’t get in contact with him soon, it’ll be safe for quite some time..

Found the ring about 250 miles from where he lives (Saline).. That’s a bit of a distance..

I’m also guessing that this ring was lost quite some time ago.. Any time between 77 and now, I’m thinking it was lost before 1990..
That I am anxious to find out..

Weighs about 17.5 grams so that’s an easy $300 in scrap gold though..

Maybe..

Like what? Proof of return?
I am glad you found him!:hello2:

I believe we would all like to give you an Honorable Mention for the return. Here's the guidelines:
