Well the last couple of weeks have been kind of slow at work, but today we started a new job. I work for a design/build company and we remodel a lot of bathrooms. The job we started today was a bathroom in a house built in the 50's, and when I was pulling up the old mud-set floor I noticed a coin near the door threshold. It's a 1953 wheat in great shape! When I pulled up the threshold I found a 1947 nickel and a 1943 steel wheatie! I was happy to find my first steel penny, and to find it in a house where it was protected from the elements made it even better. I worked my way along the wall opposite from the vanity and I saw a glimpse of silver, BIG silver down in between the floor joists! I quickly reached down and picked it up out of the dust and debris, and to my disappointment its a piece of junk modern plastic play coin. :BangHead: oh well, I'm still happy with my eyeball finds from today, maybe I'll find something cool on the next demo too!

So my friend ,those 1943 steel pennies don't get posted very often as they rust into nothingness when dropped on the ground in the forties.

Congrats on the steel penny. Treasure is where you find it. Nice score.

I found a 1953 Steel Penny! I'm trying to find a value on it...anybody know what they go for at auction ?

Any idea what they go for in auction?
