A few weeks ago,I found a earring, at the beach,in the dry sand, with another brand of detector. The markings on the earring post were unreadable, but it had a bit of weight. When I got home,I tested it with my Mizar ET 18 gold tester. It read as 18K white gold. This tester doesn't read anything higher than 18K.I thought that it weighed more than even 18K gold,so I passed it under the coil of my Ace 250,and it read between penny and dime, with a belltone.I then ran a 18K yellow gold ring under the coil and it read as a nickle, with a flat tone.I believe that the earring might be platinum.I would appreciate any opinions on this. Thanks,Ron
