I donā€™t find many quartz verses chert. So I was happy to see the quartz laying on the last gravel bar today. I didnā€™t take a picture before I picked it up cause not much was showing and I thought it was just another broken or flake. Got the scraper to. Scraper is made from a flake and has that curve from removal. 2023 is looking good so far. This was a different creek than the last post of finds. I have permission to a few places still but always looking for more.

Could be a Morrow Mountain but I believe itā€™s a Guilford Round Base. Itā€™s been thinned down on one side at the base and feels ground.

Nice, I found a few round base Gilfords that looks to be the same or close to the material of the scraper; of course from N. Ala

Itā€™s a stained black not sure of the colors underneath. But the quartz hasnā€™t been in the water long I didnā€™t even wash it.
Might be a Morrow Mountain I think itā€™s to wide for a Guilford after looking at some of the other quartz pieces Iā€™ve found. First MM Iā€™ve found in that creek
