Good for you on getting youngsters interested and good luck with the new machine

I haven't used the 350 so I can't compare them. You will like the ATP though.

That's probably going to be my next move as well because I just cannot afford an XP anytime in the near future. That being said I don't even have a year on my 350 yet so I feel like I still have a lot to learn before I upgrade and spend more money

Taught a couple kids in park how to metal detect. Was fun. Also found about a half dozen steak knives. Also ordered an AT Pro. Think it was a good step up from my Ace 350? I was also looking at the GTI 2500 but went with the pro because I knocked it down to 450$.

Yes a big step up.
As for the 2500 it is a great machine, with lots of power they will find a nail at 12+ inches. Still I think the ATP a better choice because;
1) Not to mention the 450 less money
2) Water proof
3) Digital ID#
4) iron audio
5) Uses half the batteries

All those more than make up for it's inch (or two) less depth. Oh yeah if memory serves the 2500 is a couple more pounds to lug around.
