I'm in DC this week for some work training and during some down time went hunting at the Smithsonian!
Very happy to have seen these in person.

Well worth the trip to the museum of American history at the Smithsonian if you get the chance, these were located in the ANA coin and money display
 

Awesome coins indeed. I've seen that collection twice. Kinda funny how they display those priceless treasures. Only the U.S. Govt would use metal hooks to hold the coins like that. Not a lot of care demonstrated there - go figure. Amazing collection they have and only about 0.1% of the collection is on display. They did manage to show the best coins though: the two you mentioned, a Brasher Doubloon, unique 1849 $20 gold, 1793 Chain Lg Cent, 1974 aluminum cent, among others. Definitely worth checking out. That one tiny room probably holds $100M in coins!
 

I agree me and my wife spend every fourth of july in D.C. and we love the museums. Thanks for sharing.
