Yesterday, I decided to hit only school bark chip playgrounds. So, access was denied at one of the schools I went to but I noticed a city park next to it that had a bark chip playground. Normally at city parks I stay out of the bark chips because I never have luck with them, only the school bark chips, but something told me to try. Within the first 5 minutes I pulled out this British 1921 George V one Florin coin. At first I thought it was a Peso, which I find fairly frequently, but I quickly saw otherwise. When I checked the date I was shocked and happy. I was pretty sure it was silver but I had to check when I got home. It is 50% silver, 40% copper, and 10% nickel. It is over 11 grams. One florin is two shillings, in case you are wondering. I had never heard of a florin.
It is the biggest silver coin that I have found and one of the oldest coins I have found. I think it is a neat coin.
Oh yeah, I found a silver ring Friday evening, again near an old oak tree. I am guessing the black stone is onyx.
