Any help, if it’s possible, with ID would be awesome. I’m so curious to know what it is. I understand if it’s too far gone though.

It’s the size of a modern quarter, but definitely copper.

I see bits of what I think is silver plate. This could mean it was a counterfeit silver quarter as you said it is the same size but honestly, it looks too far gone to be sure.
