I got a good tip the other day on a old Nazi training area. I was skeptical but I went looking for it and on the second time out I found some foxholes. I took a guy from work with me and now he is hooked! He used my cibola and found a large round of some kind and I found a mortar round. Being that they were still dangerous we left them in the woods. I did not have a camera with me but I will go back this week and take pictures. It is really a neat place and not far away. There are a lot of UXOs around so we have to be very careful. I detected and dug out one foxhole and found unshot German rounds and a small bottle. The bottle has the word"Klofterfrau" A German friend of mine told me it was a medicine bottle used to help sleep or calm nerves.I started out collecting bottles so this was a really cool find for me. There was also lots of broken plates but I could not find any swastikas or any other markings. I have not found any personal belongings from solders yet but there is lots and lots of ground to cover. At the end of the war the US army blew up large amounts of weapons and ordinance. This is what I was told and I am finding shrapnel everywhere in the woods . I will add more pics this week some time.I wish I had more time but between work and family it is hard to get out. Hope all is well and HH.

Really cool finds!!! But your making me nervous when you start talking about mortor rounds and such. Be careful!! That site sounds like some real potential. Just don't make it the wrong potential. I know if it was me. That would bring my probing to a halt. Sounds like the Cibola just might be doing alright. Good luck on your new site and hopefully new hunting partner. HH

Glad you were able to get out!!! How is that new baby doing? I second the motion...be careful! Those are some neat finds !

Sounds like a cool site to detect but be careful! I think the bottle should read Klosterfrau. I found a few German WWII rounds like yours the other day. HH and nice post, Mike

Those first two rounds look like what the Germans used in their assault rifles late in the war. Similar ballistics to the 7.62X39 SKS cartridge. If so, not many were in production when the war ended. If not....? Old ammo itself is not dangerous to dig or handle, it's the darn mines, mortar rounds and fuses you have to be careful of. Monty

Bird,

nice artifacts.

That area sounds like it could really produce.

Love those old bottles; Enjoy trying to trace the markings
and what they were used for. Medicine bottles are always
interesting.

have a good un............
