Thank you mrs.oroblanco :icon_thumleft: that explains why iam finding so many Colonial artifacts in these mid 1600,s farm fields a mixed bag of 4 generations ,Good Hunting DD60

I got the ID from a book called Jacksons Hallmarks piccy of book below. printed in England by... Antique Collector's Club Ltd, Sandy Lane, Old Martlesham, Woodbidge, Suffolk, England. IP12 4SD......... Book ISBN No 1 85149 169 4 .

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

The first spoon is not from the late 1880s. Itā€™s Wm. A. Rogers ā€˜Chatelaine/Soniaā€™ pattern, introduced in 1930 and produced only in silverplate.

Neither is the second spoon English and thatā€™s not a duty mark. Also, you will almost never see the word ā€˜Sterlingā€™ on English silver because the hallmark itself was the sterling guarantee and the word would be superfluous. Itā€™s too worn to establish the maker, but itā€™s an American spoon.
