Hi - I'm brand new to the forum and am excited to be in the company of other metal detecting enthusiasts! I recently found two buttons on former very old Farmer's Branch, TX farm that I can't identify. The button with the crest on it looks pretty old. I can't find it in my huge catalog of buttons. The one with the goose looks more recent. Can anyone help me identify? Thanks in advance!

The goose looks like an overall rivet button the other looks like a steel back mid 20th century civilian fashion button but im just guessing i didnt search for them.

The button appears to be a 2 piece steel back civilian fashion crest design called "crown crest laurel" and I found the design on the Waterbury Button Company website. Crown Crest Laurel - Waterbury Button Yours has slight differences and may have been manufacturered by a different company. Steel back fashion buttons are usually 20th century.

I emailed the owner of the overall button company from the info you provided me with above and she said it is a modern era garment button that was permanently riveted to a denim jacket pocket. She said if it were older, she would call it an overall button but it is modern. Once again - thank you very kindly!
