I woke up this morning and walked into the living room and there was a small box under a tree. It was wrapped in paper and had a bow on it. I dug into it and out popped a 1942 Proof Walking Liberty Half Dollar. My wife was surprisingly excited about my new treasure. I believe she may have had something to do with it.
Seriously though Merry Christmas to everyone. I've been a member for almost a year and love the posts and all the knowledge about detecting on this site. Hope you have a Happy New Year and a successful year of hunting.

Well, maybe Santa had something to do with it. At any rate it's a nice find under the tree. That is my birth year. Would have been nice to be under my tree.

Such a beautiful coin, nothing against Franklin or Kennedy but I wish the USA would get back to half dollars like yours.

I agree with you one hundred percent. This is my favorite coin #1 because it's beautifully designed and #2 because it's not another boring ex-president profile but a symbol.

You must have been an awfully good boy this year! Merry Christmas Hogtown Hunter, and wishing you a very happy ( and silver filled) New Year!

That is a swell gift!
Rick on Pawn Stars would give you 20 bucks for it!
Because, well, you know, he has to make a little money on everything to keep the doors open!

Right! He poo-poos every thing that comes in the door. Then after he buys it he talks about how cool it is.

Absolutely beautiful coin- one of the best looking series ever minted, IMHO. Sweet "find"!
