Yes they are. I am going back there to cover the whole area and grid off the hill where I found these two items. I believe where there is one or two, there are maybe more to find.
 

Nice find! :icon_thumleft: One of the better dates with mint mark. Mintage only 238,000! I found one about 9 months ago in a S.F. park, but can't tell if it's a S or a D. Mint mark turned into a dot from being in the ground. :'(
Probably is a S since it was found in S.F.

Yes, an uncommon find with decent value if a 12-s, I can't tell for sure from the pic. Congrats! :icon_thumright:

I'll second that! Griding is the best way to go. Even if you don't find anything, you'll know the area has been thoroughly covered. Grid it and dig every signal above iron.

If I was you I would dig all signals. Even the iron ones you never know what you will find....Matt
