Regarding NGC, feel free to ask them here: NGC ? Contact Us

Caution: Varieties exist. For example, yours has the date in sync with the legend; others have the date below the peacock but not in the legend stream.

PS: Other varieties include head left or right or in silver. BTW, they are not Hard Time Tokens. They were struck between 1900 and 1906. According to Rulau, yours may be his reference: M21 (R2 rarity) 1837 Head right, date in exergue. Unc. value of $80 (though I'll guess the card has appreciated since the printing of his 4th edition of the Standard Catalog.
Don.......
BTW, the date, 1837, was the date the company was established.
Adding further, 7,500 of yours were struck in 1902 by Gorham Mfg. Co.

Althought Rulau most likely correct on the date, population, maker etc on this token and others, sometimes his prices are way off, as well as his attribution of maverick tokens etc, can be off base sometimes. Generally there is nothing wrong with his background info, but his prices are sometimes wildly off base.
Nice find BTW....looks to have been well cared for. I would not slab the token, but that is just me. :)
