Found 1 Gram today, consistently getting this out of every 4-5 buckets of cons, On my claim with the gold cube...

Wondering if this is considered rich ground? If I totaled that out to 41 5 gallon buckets would make a YARD, that would put it at about $300 a yard, while even if I am hitting some rich cracks, but even the normal ground dirt is paying about half that would put it at about $150 a yard... Are these numbers rich or low?

I know moving that much is hard but I moved by my self about 6, 5 gallon buckets down to 4 buckets of fine cons in about 2 hours and ran through Gold Cube ... Got about one coffee cup of super cons and got = 1 gram...

I really like that picker. Truthfully, by yourself, I think you did well, learning daily is key

Congrats my friend!

Also think I could move more and get more gold if I ran a high banker and ran that into the cube.... and of course some extra arms... BTW I tested about 4 sections along the claim on the river, BUT NOT IN THE RIVER, and results are pretty close to the same, about 25% better returns working the cracks.... Not sure if I am loosing the bigger gold if any by just running fine cons...

Need to buy a high banker, I think..... Thinking of looking for someone trade my new Fisher Gold Bug 2, to someone for a good high banker...

Is that a gram in the pic? Anyway at $1180 an oz that comes out to approx $38.00. The gals at McD's are making $15.00 an hour now so getting a gram is pretty good every hour. I've made less and I've made a lot more with gold. This is the thing to remember, "Am I making a good enough living off of the amount of gold that I am getting?" If you are happy with the answer then, you have it, if not, then look for better ground :)

Well, I work from home run a internet marketing company and make a good living doing it, and only takes me about 1-2 hours mon-fri of work in the morning,, Then I am done by say 10am... So I have much free time... I am not looking at this to make a living, rather for the fun of it and was wondering if it would be wise with these numbers to get bigger gear and run more cons... I am not sure how much a good rich gold claim would yield per YARD of dirt, that is why I was asking....

But as I pointed out I sampled from all angles of my claim along the river from near the water to 30 feet away from the water and I get better results from the dirt away from the river about 30 feet away....

Yeah it scaled out to 1 gram exactly on scale... the picker is 8gn

The best gold that I have found has been quite a ways from the river. There's no easy way to clean cracks. Bigger equipment means "plans of operation", bonds possibly, trommels, tractors and a lot of pay gravel is needed. A Plan of operation and some big equipment while moving say 5 yards an hour could make for some good times but you need to figure out how much pay material you have and if it will pay for itself. I have some ground that pays 1½oz per ton and I know that I can clean out that spot in a month and pay for the equipment and everything else... but like you, I don't need the extra cash right now so I am saving it for a rainy day. I plan on working it soon but I need the time set aside to do it all and figure out when the weather will cooperate as well. Bigger equipment means lots of dust and a lot of noise so the work is best done in the Winter when the public is doing other things and the noise won't attract so many people if it is in a populated area.

Its worth working to me. :)

When you say cons are you talking about concentrates from a piece of recovery equipment or are you talking about dirt you dug and classified to run thru the gold cube?

I think he's talking about classified. For the OP, the correct term is classified. Cons are what you have left after you run it through equipment.

Was that pic all the gold you found? Because this is only half a gram... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415596427.676065.jpg

Yes it is just under 1gram.... I double checked it on a 2nd scale, that is what it is reading...

Went out yesterday and did not do as good as other days on my claim but got about 1/4 gn, not great but my claim is constantly giving the gold up, I think with my claim it comes down to needing to move as much material as poss to get a good clean up...

Looking into getting a mini wash / trommel as the classify is just taking up most energy and time up..

Do you have a pic of all the gold you found? Cause that one bigger piece next to your penny would only weigh about 0.3 grains, give or take 0.1gr

Bud trust me two scales can't be wrong, the vial is 4.91grams, with the gold in it comes out to being 5.83 grams its shy under a gram... Pic below is from the same photo after dried..
