I checked a Wallyworld coinstar today and found a quarter under the feed tray handle. It often pays off to look there. Nothing in the reject tray. While walking back out through the parking lot, I found another 2 quarters and a 1961 D Rosie! They were spread out in different spots - didn't seem like a single pocket spill.

Thanks for looking, and happy hunting!

Nice little Treasure Flood you had! When you find multiple things very quickly (same day) in unrelated places/circumstances it's a Treasure Flood, basically the world just forces treasure on you, it's the best. 😁👍

That 61 is in good shape... nice to know I'm not the only one keeping an eye out for parking lot spills... :)

I once found a silver rosie in the parking lot just outside of the store doors. I assume it was someone who figured the machine wouldn't take that dang useless dime and they didn't want to carry it any more.
I am something of a coinstar miner (especially on the weekends). The local grocery store's machine is in the cart area, by the door, so I can walk in and out within moments to check it without even being noticed. So, any time I am out doing other things, I'll make a stop by. I know this may make me seem a fanatic, but I DID find 56 silver dimes and a commemorative half dollar in the reject one Saturday. Without tallying everything, I would guess I have gathered somewhere over 200 silver coins from in and around the machine in the past 4 years.
I said all that to say this...
If I find a zincoln in the feed tray, I will leave it hidden in the corner. If I go back hours later and it is still there, I learn useful metrics on when and how often the machine is used. It has taught me that sometimes the local machine gets used (or checked!) quite often... and sometimes it can go for a whole 24 hours or more without a single use!
However... the fanatic in me still tells me to check often. You never know when someone is going to randomly dump something good!
Happy hunting and good luck.

I have posted my daughters find before, but here it is again, from a Publix conversion machine:

Wow, I'm not the only coinstar fanatic out there. :)

I saw you mentioned a Stop and Shop....are you in Massachusetts by chance? :)

I am in Connecticut and Massachusetts. I live and work in the Hartford area, my vacation house is on Cape Cod. My youngest daughter lives in New Hampshire, so I am able to check the coinstars up there once in a while.

Very cool... I'm in Beverly so I hit Shaw's, Walmart, Stop and Shop here.... wouldn't it be funny if we bumped into each other at a coinstar? I do go into New Hampshire periodically 😊
