🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Fossil?

A friend of mine found this in a creek in Westmoreland, TN. I told him I’d post it online to help him in figuring out what it is. I forgot to measure in our brief interaction, but it’s about 2” long.

Anyone have any idea what we are looking at?

Could you tell me why you think it might be a buffalo horn?

Looks to me like a heavily eroded horn coral.

That's what it looks like to me. Could be just most of the tip since only 2 inches long.
Again. I am just guessing based on the pic and am no authority on fossil ID.

It definitely looks like horn coral. He was hoping for something…cooler.
