Hello Folks
As I am a newbie to the forum, thought I would show some goodies from the great white north.Best find has to be a 1906 gold soveriegn coin ring found in three feet of water after a wicked storm.Silver one on the finger came 1 minute later.{great day].Also included rings from last two seasons and my last find a victorian Abbra Cadabra magic token from my new yard.Cant wait for spring to set me free.I love seeing everyones finds while I stare out at several feet of snow.HH

dr: Right Nice Booty! How long have you been hunting? Looking forward to more Pics! Welcome to Treasure Net!

HH Joe

Thanks for the welcome Joe,I started about 8 years ago and was pretty active after work and weekends for a couple years then got almost no detecting in for about 5 years.Just moved up north close to some great beaches and have a second water detector now and cant wait for the thaw.

Setting yourself up to be my hero finding all those rings... I find bull nose rings, hitch rings, O rings, ring around my collar after I digg'em up, but never a finger ring. :'(

It sounds like you're in an area thats going to keep you doing a happy dance.

Happy Hunting.

Hey Charlene,I only found a few small silver rings on land, all the rest come from the water at local beaches. If you want rings buy a water detector.
PS is that my dog in your photo

Wow!

Love those finds and I can hardly wait to get my metal detector and start searching! I love reading what everyone finds, it has so motivated me to start in this new hobby. What I am curious about is where did you get that nice display case?

Hey southern boy,the case was made by my father,it is made like the old machinests toolboxs. They are great for seperating your finds into catagories.Check your local flea markets you may find one.I am an antique dealer and have had quit a few of them.Great for any small collections.
Good Hunting

what's an abbra caddabra token is it the masonic looking one?

The magic token is the one with the triangle on one side and the star on the other.Sorry for the bad photos. The first side has the all seeing eye above a triangle that has the words abbra cadabbra writen over and over again inside the triangle,On either side of the triangle there is a star and what might be burning cauldrons. The other side has a central star over a crescent moon with a hand below doing the star trek "live long and prosper" sign and a circle of stars above and lines below.Did some more cleaning on it and will post better shots when I get a new camera. Thanks to all for the interest.

the picture's fine, I just thought that it was something to do with The Masons........didn't realise it said Abra Cadabra on it

I think it has something to do with one of the esoteric groups like The Golden Dawn or Rosicrucians. It also could be from one of the occult Masonic Lodges. It's a curious little token and finding out it's history would be interesting.

Dr-Dr gimme the news I got a, bad case of cabin blues ! 8)
Hey Doc, The Names Underbear. I live just south of you, well so. of buffalo. Welcome to TNet and I must say we should get together and hit the lake Erie beaches real heavy this summer. ;D

Hello Underbear, love your icon.Lake Erie shores hold the possibility to all those wrecks spitting up some gold coins but unfortunately I am 4 hours north of there now.Friend of mine pulled a canonball out of the water there.HH

Thanks for the thumbs up on my avatar Doc. as far as the four hour difference we can always split that and meet somewhere in the middle. maybe make a weekend camping trip out of it. Just so you know I always bring the wife, keeps me outa trouble, ya know. Hehehe ;D I do have a couple years (4-5)MDing experience under my belt, but think I could always use some extra instruction from someone who's got the background and treasure to prove it. ;) But if your not into it that's cool too. If you are into it, PM me and we'll set up a date for further discussions and planning. 8)

Way to go Dr. The land is fun but if you want gold you have to get wet.

Aint it the truth Mike

Great finds. I am not up to your level of expertise yet or maybe not as good at finding sites. Still frozen solid up here.
One question I have for you....where does one find those wooden framed display cases? They are perfect for displaying my measly (so far) finds and I would like to get some. Or maybe I have to build them myself? I can do that but rather spend my time detecting instead.
Once again, great success you are having and nice displays.

Foiled Again
