Man, I really appreciate this tnet forum! Even more so after today. I also post on another site that rhymes with -------- and notice that the mods over there are deleting my posts! Not only that, but I'm pretty sure they are reading the PM's I send. One of my posts was deleted only after I made a comment in a PM to another forum member regarding that particular post. Both mine and the other member's posts were either deleted or edited. Do we no longer have the right to express our opinions? Neither of us were attacking anyone, merely responding to a rude comment that someone else had posted. I feel like I'm dealing with the NSA, knowing that every PM is most likely being read by the Mods over there. I'm hoping that this won't be edited, but I've never had that happen with tnet. Just thought I'd voice my opinion, I've just had enough of the Forum Nazis.

I'll be the "forum Nazi" Here :laughing7: & edit your posts "rhymes with" name :tongue3: I hope you don't mind,
I prefer no attacks or Reminders of other Forums :laughing7:

Anyway Rest assured the Only PM's we read are ones that are Physically Reported to us.

We have enough Posts to read without snooping on top of it :icon_thumright:

Thank you for your Respect :icon_thumright:

Man I know runs a good size investment web site. I brought up the does he ever read the PM's? He said his web software doesn't have any feature that would allow him to read his user's PM. I also heard the same thing from another web site owner. Doubt if TN has the feature that would allow that.

Besides, as Jeff said, I doubt if the mod's have the time to read all of the open posts.

.. I think that Jeff just said they can read PM's if reported to them......All web site owners can read every thing that is put up on there site if they want.......

Keppy Please Do Not Twist things, if that is your Intention.
I have had more then enough accusations to last a lifetime.

If I misunderstood your intention, I'm sorry !

Look at your PM's they all have a Triangle.

Untitled.jpg

IF you or someone hits report (the Triangle) & sends us the PM in a report yes we can read it.

No We cannot decide to go into anyones PM's and read them,
Except our Own.

Again I will not tolerate accusations that we can read others PM's !

unless the PM is Sent to Us, We cannot !!!

Jeff .. Sorry i did not under stand what you said......... I did not mean to twist things around ....

Don't worry about Jeff, he's our glorious leader! Or at least one of them. And did it Mention he's right all the time?

Keppy, you may be right. It's been several years since the web site owners said they could not read their users PM's. Guess technology caught up.

If a web site owner has time to read his users PM's, he must not have a lot of traffic.

As mods we have no desire to read members PMs, we can't even read all the new posts. I read a couple hundred posts a day and that hardly scratches the surface of total posts made per day.

As mods we also have real lives.:D

We will NOT go quitely into the night!

Tnet is the only Treasure forum..Everything else is just a toy ;). The other ones I ALMOST joined were filled with trolls, people doubting finds, flaring egos, people trying to show others up with finds. Some of the stuff I post up on here is pure Junk. But it was identified because this community took the time to help me. Other sites I saw thread upon thread of what is it type stuff that was never answered. What got me hooked was that I can post up a picture of a shoe on this site and ask what it is, and someone will tell me. There is only one site for me and that is here. Plus no one makes anyone feel dumb here. Those other sites I was half afraid to post because of fear of being made fun of for not knowing what I found was. I wonder if you took a poll of all Tnet members of how many left other forums to come here what the percentage would be?

Beeps
I belong to one other MDing web site and i see some of the guys from here ...there... but this is my home.
I have been at this a long time and thought i knew alot...but when i found Treasurenet.com 9 years ago... i really went to school and learned so much.
It`s great to share what i know and most feel the same way here...your right this is the best.

On some forums, the moderators as well as the owner/developer can view Private Messages. After becoming a mod at an artifact forum, I was dismayed to realize that not only did I have access to sensitive information, but I could also see the moderator log detailing the chronological edits made to people's posts and profiles by the mentally-unbalanced owner himself, edits made to discredit and marginalize the finds and reputations of the posters. A righteous storm ensued and the owner shut the place down. I'd be highly skeptical if a site owner claimed that they couldn't access such info, and likewise would be distrustful of such claims by Administrators, though lowly moderators are not likely to have such access with modern software. Just like the NSA, why would they admit to such indignation-provoking activities unless absolutely forced to? People claim that they have better things to do than pry into personal matters, but the popularity of voyeuristic reality-tv garbage demonstrates that many people relish it greatly. Toss in a few firsthand accounts of buried gold, or exuberant messages detailing a rich ore deposit and most people would tune-in given half a chance. I'd exercise caution if you have valuable information that would typically be sent via PMs to trusted associates. I know for a fact that the ulterior motive behind the establishment of some forums (and/or certain features of the forums) is specifically for the purpose of gleaning juicy nuggets from the "private" correspondence of their members, or their search inquiries. They were topically unrelated forums so it's highly unlikely here, but certainly not impossible. Just use some discretion.

It isn't highly unlikely...It is 100 percent Unlikely. I have followed this forum for a long time before joining. No one is here to steal , loot, plunder anyone's sites. Tnet is tightly moderated and these folks are here to help learn share and make the hunting experience what it should be. Fun, educational, and addictive. This is not "another where is the loot?" forum. You will learn more on here than you can learn at a College majoring in history. These folks are world wide. Trust these folks and don't worry. Tnet is a family not a bunch of pirates :)

Common' now... I'm only right "Most " of the time :tongue3:

Jeff, you ever get back to coin beach?

& no, I probably never will unless they put a parking lot ocean side
at the inlet, Or at least some type of Tram.
My health barely allowed me to walk the 2 city blocks, or what Felt like allot more for me , from the lot to the beach
& after a short rest was able to brush off the chest pain & detect.
But at the end of the Day, Having to walk back to the parking lot after, took 2 long rests & a few short ones
more to catch my breath, & pop a nitro and every bit of enjoyment out of me :(

& of course the Ditch is way too far north of the prime spot for me.

Jeff of pa, "Most of the time" is good cause we're wrong the rest of the time so that equals 100% your right! Works for me!
I was unaware there were any other t h sites Lol!
Glad you clued me in on that little ion I will sty away from that one! I'm e-challenged so I have no clue what all the little I cons do, just happy I can like and reply! When I figure out how to post pics of my finds, you all will probably wish I hadn't!

Jeff, I feel for you. No nitro for me. Eyes are starting to go though. Arthritis stinks. There is a new parking lot 20' from the bridge now. And 10 million pounds of newly dredged sand on top of the old beach. Old beach is now probably 15 feet underground. I only got 1 copper in the last year.
