Fort Myers Wrecks & General Florida Information Questions

I have a few books on Florida wrecks, but want to know from you experienced members about wrecks around the Fort Myers area.


This may be off-topic.
To those members that live in Florida, where do you live & why? My longterm plans are to move to Florida & run a B&B or small Inn, but I want to have plenty of wrecks to dive or search for. The Keys are out due to financial constraints, but I am looking everywhere else. I am leaning to the Fort Myers area or Gulf side, but am open to both coasts. My Wife vetoed Belize / Bocas de Toro, Panama / Roatan & Bonaire, but is open to Florida. i need some guidance here folks.

This board is a wealth of knowledge.

May I suggest anywhere on the east coast from say, Jupiter, northward...I'm a bit south of there & have a ways to travel when the weather & Mother Ocean cause reasons to hunt the beaches, but Jupiter is a nice place to live...Treasure Hunting of the likes of the 1715 Fleet is spread out over quite a long area, usually beginning around Hobe Sound and heading North from there to as far as Melbourne! I used to live in Ft. Pierce, also not a bad place to start & MANY salvors in that general area...Finding treasure on beaches doesn't always mean we keep secrets... Today's The Day!!!!
