You cut it in half

I'd have gone in thirds, and now that you see the silly looking halves I'm sure you're kicking yourself for not having done so.
But, anyway the mark is "A1 White metal"... The A1 being used by many producers of plated stuffs, trying to sell the fine quality.
These have a layer of copper because its a better adhesive for silver plating.
