Foriegn Coin found in NY Park

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this coin is and any history behind it. It's a little heavier then a quarter but it doesn't ring up as silver. It was ringing up as a bottle cap? Did they add lead to the coin or is there another metal that they could have used to add the weight? Swizzle

Swiz, that probably used a mix of cheap metal to make those coins. Still a cool find far from home

I just found out that it is nickle and worth a total of 0.122826 USD. I've never dug a $.12 cent coin before. lol. Thanx for the info guys. I really appreciate it. How's it goin' Ed. Long time no talk. I'll catch ya later. Swizzle

Mojjax nailed it.
1963 one dirham coin features King Hassan II's profile, the words "Kingdom of Morocco", and the king's name on the obverse. The reverse shows the state seal, the date according to both the Islamic and Gregorian calendar, and the denomination. What is interesting is that the Islamic date should be 1384; yes?. Is the '1' there?
Coin should be composed of silver; I think nickel came in 1965.

Yes the one is there, its just really faded and the coin is actually 1965 and magnetic so I know its nickle. I was really hoping that it was silver but I knew it wasn't when it rang up as junk on my detector. Swizzle
