These are some foreign coins I have found doing sidewalks of Grand Rapids. The large bronze piece is from Mexico w/ large eagle killing snake like on their national flag w/ the words "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" and reverse says 20 Centovos 1960 w/ Aztec pyramid. Next is a coin from Denmark that has a lady head bust that says Margrethe II Danmarks Drowning followed by an "S ( a heart symbol ) B". The reverse has a crown atop a coat of arms 1977 Krone so this is one Krone. The other two are the same and I can"t tell you where they are from other than asia w/ asian lettering w/ a asian bldg. where reverse has a large 10 on it w/ olive branches. Perhaps this is from Vietnam which has a large population in Grand Rapids but since this is a very ethnic town it could be from anywhere in asia. Maybe somebody out there knows. coins 003.JPGI have no idea why this new format made two posts???? Tried to delete but it will not let me. Just put two photos on one post.

Your 1960 Mexican coin should have a diameter of 28.5 mm and weigh 10 grams. It is composed of bronze.
The reverse image is the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan. In the background are the mountains of Ixtaccihuatl and Popocatepetl; the #2 and 3 highest peaks in Mexico. 'Popo' is an active volcano. On a clear day, both can be seen from Mexico City. That year's minage was nearly 40m coins.
Don....

By Golly I have found some strange ones as well, some countries I have never heard of. Good finds good Luck to ya.

Ok, thanks Mackaydon. So it is 10 Yen ( or dollars ) makes sense as Japan is one of the "sister cities" to GR. which is probably how it got here in the dirt.

Neat! I like finding foreign coins.
