While out on a short hunt I got this coin.
We couldn't determine what it was - any ideas?
I don't know if it's really old, or something commemorative that's made to look old.
It appears to be brass or bronze, I didn't measure it but size is between quarter and half dollar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Only the very oldest sites in the US would give you a shot at an authentic one, or a lot of luck. I like those old reales a lot but late 1600s is the best we can do here, or I expect us to ever do. The 8 reale from that era I think is the best looking Spanish silver and every time I see a nice one I'm tempted to buy it.
