For you Arizona hunters.

Very good read Oak.

I have to disagree with them saying that the Greaterville area has been "Mined out" though. There's still lots of gold in that area that the old timers couldn't get to at the time. Sure they got a lot of gold out of there, but there's still a lot more to be had. You just have to learn the area and be willing to do some serious work to get it is all.

This is from 35 gallons or (7) 5 gallon buckets that were not full of 1/2" classified material from the heart of Greaterville that I just run today...
Remember it takes (40) 5 gallon buckets to have a yard of material.

Did you change where you were digging Keith? I thought you were getting better gold than that out of that hole. I just finished up running the 12 buckets we brought back from our last trip and got about a gram and a half out of them. That's from the same place under that dead tree. The deeper we dig the better it's been getting.

I'd keep diggin' under that tree!

All the best, as it sounds like you're havin' fun,

Lanny

Oh we plan to Lanny! When we first started digging out there we found where someone had started digging under this dead oak on the side of the bank. We could tell that the hole had been started a long time ago and so we started digging on the other side of it. If the tree had been alive, we would never have dug so close to it since it's National Forest land and we don't want to tick off any of the LEOS.

That was from buckets I had from months ago from different areas we took samples from. Not one particular area. Oh I have not given up on the hole as you know from the photo I sent you. Just on hold until I have everything worked out with the trommel, pump, sluice, etc. I had kept buckets of dirt to have at home to test the sluice as I wanted to make sure I got the flow and angle correct to capture the gold and fine gold. I am close but feel I need more angle on the sluice to flush out the dirt but leave the gold. As Doc had mention the mats needs to be run fast.
