So looking at the history (found with WWI capbadges) I have an original spinner from the time that they invented them. That has to be collectable. ;D

Well, one thing's certain: no matter what you get for it, it'll be the "top price"! ;)

Never sold anything I find. Rather give it to a museum.

It'd be way sweet to be able to go to a museum and see a relic on display that YOU donated...maybe someday.

I already rotate displays in the local museum.

of course I don't know, but it would seem that a museum would be happy to take anything of a little historic significance off your hands....especially if it is a donation. I'll keep this in mind if I ever have a quality find!

Sorry for the confusion - I was using the phrase 'donate' to show that my interest is historic & not monetary. I have not yet donated anything but will. The displays I do are lent to them for a year or two as my finds are more interesting then there documents etc...

The local museum here isn't even interested in keeping the artifacts I find. They want to display them, but they don't want to keep them. They want me to loan them, and rotate them once in a while. They say they don't have room for everything that people want to "donate". Hmmm...maybe I should start a museum? ;D ;D
