Here are some Scioto Co. points. I found these in a cache on a construction site in Portsmouth right on Front st. A laborer was digging under a footer to run a gas line and dug one up. I offered to buy it from him and he gave it to me. I started carefully digging where he found it and the rest were there in an area about as big as a shoebox. I couldn't hardly work the rest of the day for wanting to dig up the whole area! It was an old house some lawyers were restoring to make an office in. This was spring of 1980. I left Ohio in 83. I think they are all Adena blades.

Very nice newnan man. They sure look like an Adena Cache to me. Portsmouth was a major Indian settlement at one time and had numerous mounds and earthworks until they were almost all destroyed by construction. I have a buddy who used to find Hopewell points in his garden all the time and he lived right off of Gallia Street near Portsmouth High School.

This is a picture of the mural that is painted on the flood wall of the Portsmouth Earthworks.

Hey Dorkfish, I know your getting ready for the show, wish I was there. Here is a pick of a Scioto Co. Dovetail. I wish I found it. It was found by a fellow named Martin Baker of Portsmouth. It's perfect and one of my favorites.
