I'm not sure if this is where to post this tidbit. I accidently came across one of these while searchin for a colonial pin cusions.
Google "chatelaines ". Find a place in yer memories to put these tidbits.
They came in so many different configuartions that any part of any one of 'em could be dug up by one of use and be pretty hard to identify.
Hope this info helps with a furutre find or maybe even solve an allready dugeded one
Some were worn as rings, some as bracelets and some pinned to the womans clothing.

Oh, chatelaines are so cool. I saw a dealer at Brimfield who had lots of them last year. That would be an AMAZING find!
