Welcome. Yes, highly foliated mica heavy schist. Common in areas of metamorphic rocks. And as we all know, schist happens.

Some accessory minerals found with schist are tiny zircons, tourmalines (black), garnets, iron minerals, chlorite and sometimes gold.

It appears as though the schist has some quartz? I'd be inclined to chip a corner to see the insides better.
