i found this near he entrance of a hunting field, its made of copper/brass with a wooden center pin, now that it dryed you can pull the wood out of the copper cylinder, best guesses here are that it was used to fill up gun powder and then with the other end push the bullet into the barrel at the right distance, but your guess is as good as mine, anyone?
the wood is square at one end and flat circular at the other, the copper cylinder is narrowed at one end.

With the tube like construction and tapered end, I think it may be a wad cutter of some sort. Maybe for a smaller caliber handgun? Using the ramrod to push out the small patch. I dont know the size or approx. caliber since there is nothing to compare it to.
Nice find though.
